The Wheel Outcomes Tool

Why is The Wheel important?

  • Gives one standard structure that can be used to measure tangible and intangible outcomes across populations, client groups, sectors and organisations.
  • Provides an evidence base from which to structure strategic aims.
  • Allows the true impact of organisations to be evidenced quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Is simple for service users and staff to use.
  • Is completely person-centred.

The Wheel is jointly copyrighted by Esther Hall at Up partners and SWR Mind.

Licensing

Each person trained to use The Wheel needs to be licensed to actually use it.  This license needs to be re-newed every year.  Within this cost, a comprehensive database is available to collect, analyse and map outcome data to National public sector outcomes frameworks.

Training

Training can be booked as an organisation or, for smaller organisations, individuals can be booked onto our mixed training sessions.

Accreditation

There is an option to gain a quality mark for your data.  Commissioners and peer organisations can see that the The Wheel has been used in line with the official training, that the data is entered accurately and appropriately and that the workers in the field are using a person-centred approach.

There is a small charge for one annual visit from a member of our quality team.  Excellence when using The Wheel gives our quality mark that can be shown within the database and on on all materials, website etc.

See our pricing structure.

Organisations using The Wheel

Many VSOs in North Yorkshire are using The Wheel, which is fully endorsed by Seachange, the collective voluntary sector support organisation.  Clinical Commissioning Groups and Local Authorities have been collaborating with us in developing a reporting structure that is simple for them to use.  This structure is based on The Wheel and helps them to understand this complex marketplace and make justifiable commissioning decisions.
