Having provided services to Humberside Police over a pereiod of three years helping staff with mental health issues, Esther Hall was contacted to take part in a panel discussion with Mark Botham, Chairman of the Police Federation who is involved with the Police Treatment Centre in Harrogate.

A constant rise in stress, anxiety and depression in the Police can be attributed to greater awareness and unfortunately, no real improvement in Line Manager training in dealing with these issues at the early stages.  The difficulty of talking about comparatively low level mental and emotional issues as compared to traumatic front-line experience and associate problems is prevalent.
